Tamara Lowe was born and raised in the Commonwealth of Dominica. Tamara is currently the country manager of Tropical Shipping, Dominica and has been at the helm since 2013 with shipping and transportation industry experience which spans over a decade. Tamara holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, a post-graduate diploma in Management and is presently completing a master’s degree in strategic management. She also speaks fluent Spanish, which has proven to be an invaluable asset within the Caribbean and Latin American space. 


Tamara was instrumental in the establishment of Women In Maritime Association Caribbean (WIMAC) Dominica Chapter and was elected the first President of the Chapter in 2019. Tamara is passionate about growing the membership of WIMAC and helping to build strong relationships among women in the maritime industry throughout the Caribbean.


As a member of the Rotary Club of Dominica, Tamara believes in community outreach and the empowerment of young people and is actively involved in mentorship and leadership initiatives. Tamara is also a poet and uses this platform to further empower young women and youth in general.
